From Developing Management Skills by David A. Whetten and Kim S. Cameron, eighth edition:
"The Type A Personality Inventory consists of four behavioral tendencies: extreme competitiveness, significant life imbalance, strong feelings of hostility and anger, and an extreme sense of urgency and impatience. Scores above 12 in each area suggest that you have a pronounced tendency toward Type A behavior."
And also: the mean score is 45.83. Top quartile is 51 and above.
I scored a 15 in Competitiveness, 11 on Work Involvement, 12 on Hostility/Anger, and 15 on Impatience/Urgency, for a total of 53.
Crap.

Missing Home
I've had a hard time for the past couple days. For starters I got completely tanked Thursday afternoon and probably made an ass of myself. I say probably since I'm not sure I remember most of it. The next day, I woke up with a cold plus a slight hangover, not a good time. Saturday afternoon was spent holed up in the library writing my Economics paper, and all of Sunday was spent in bed being sick. Monday wasn't any better, and it really wasn't until today that I started feeling better, though I still don't feel very good.
Of course, all that time sitting in my apartment by myself wasn't exactly therapeutic. I'll admit it, I miss being home. I miss having easy access to the beach, my friends, and great food whenever I wanted. It hasn't helped that it's pretty much been raining or humid every day since I've been here. Basically, I'm not exactly miserable, but I'm not exactly having a great time either.
On the other hand, I finished in 60th place out of 71 students on a marketing analytics exercise. That's not great since I'm a math major with a math tattoo. Oh, and I did this for a friggin' living for the past five years.
The other thing that triggered this bout of ennui was a job posting from Mint.com for a Senior Marketing Analyst position, something that I would really good that, something that I had a really good shot of getting, and for a company whose product I already use. Sigh.
It's just annoying to think that my life for the next two months is totally and completely locked up. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it.
There little things that remind me of home, though. I've met a few people from California, which helps. Plus I found the Trader Joe's in Brookline, where I got my daily supply of fruit leather for the first time in a couple months. That helps.

Sports Night
"You know sometimes it's worth it, taking all the pies in the face? Sometimes you come through it feeling good."
"Yes."
"And how was your day?"
"Sometimes you just stand there, hip-deep in pie."

School will calm down after this upcoming week. Posts are coming, I promise.
